Default Best place to get tires? Local or US

Well, I'm going to be needing tires fairly soon...I didn't realize how bald they infact are. The rears are pretty much completely smooth on the center tread...probably going to suck in the rain!!!

Just wondering if anyone has a preferred place either in the states or around the lower mainland that has good deals on tires.

I haven't decided what I want yet...either Max Performance Summer's, or Ultra-Performance all-seasons. I'd rather have a winter beater for crappy conditions so I can keep the skyline in good shape, but I don't forsee that happening this winter. So I may also get another set cheapy rims for the R32 and get some winters for them...depends how finances are this summer.

Thanks for any input!!

so far I know of 1010tires (localish dealer), and then the tirerack if I go the US route. Any other suggestions would be welcomed!!

Tire Trends is a great place in Maple Ridge with very competitive pricing

http://tiretrends.com

I should really add these kinds of places to the vendor lists when I get a chance

Thanks, it looks like their prices are close to that of our US competitors...and it also saves me from any hassles at the boarder for a very small premium.

I like the Falken's and they are well priced as well...I think they have pretty good reviews also. I'll just have to see when I can afford some.

Actually I was planning on going Falken too! The 912's are what I'm after because I'm cheap and I'm not planning on doing any racing so it should be just fine.

Nice. I think it would be between those and the 452's for me...depending what route I go. 1010tires.com has them a few bucks cheaper by the way

Ummm...yup. Ebay is the shiz.

http://cgi.ebay.com/245-40-17-4-NEW-...QQcmdZViewItem

Saves just over 200 bux. Nice.

I think I would get something slightly skinnier...245's are fat, but still a great deal. Maybe they would fit...

*edit* however, mounting and balancing might bring that up because local places usually do that for you when you buy tires from them....hmmm

yes, I was thinking I'd do that...I'm just not sure when I will be able to get some. And definitely don't want to pay duty :P Make a quick trip into bellingham or something to make the tires not so virgin...

ps - I'mjust finishing breakfast so I'll be over right after I stop at Lordco.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I guess since the tires I want are on the low end already I haven't found them more than about $20 cheaper in the US.

I'm sure for more expensive tires you could save pretty big. I heard Tire Trends is good at matching US prices sometimes though.

If anyone does know some websites for Washington based tire stores please post them!
