Default Please post contact information of Japanese agencies/police

Whoever knows the agencies or police who would deal with a complaint of a car company practically extorting their customers please let me know.

IBC Japan claims to offer RORO that they never had any intention of offering. How do I know? dah_hunter has waited for 1 year now and they are still trying to say RORO is not an option. They charge $3000 for container shipping and won't release the car.

Please post any tips you have about who I should contact in Japan to report this to.

Thanks

I just spoke to Kanako at the JThe Embassy of Japan in Canada (Ottawa):
(613) 241-8541

I explained the situation with IBC Japan and she is going to e-mail the proper organizations that I need to complain to.

Hi jdmvip,

From what I know it is the local police agency that would have to pursue any legal/illegal matter occurring within their jurisdiction. When applying for my dealers license at the local police station I inquired if I could list their telephone number on my site to reassure people I was legit, but they refused, and replied that they would only accept quires or complaints in person or in writing. In my experience, JETRO plays purely a promotional function to connect people and increase trade, and probably won't be of any use. There are also some free legal services but those are primarily for foreigners living in Japan. So, I would say that knowing IBC's address and contacting the local authorities is the most direct route in this country where direct confrontation is frowned on, and causes way to many people to slit their bellies (harakiri), even today. Any way I can help, let me know.

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Scott. If you check the Vendors Forum you'll see how the whole story played out. There are some details about them I left out in the end but PM me if you're interested.

I believe the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce is what made a difference. After contacting so many organizations something happened literally overnight to make them change their mind and their position.

I hope this info might be helpful for others in the future who have less than honest and forthcoming exporters.
