Sounds a little fishy, but at least they gave you your money back.

Welcome to the forums pippan. I'm sorry to hear you had trouble and it's great that you could give us some feedback about this company since there is little info about most vendor's on Tradecarview. What Exporter did you end up going with?

It sounds like this car was never in their possession, it could have been a car that they advertised from auction, but never won (this is common on Tradecarview) or maybe a personal sale or dealer sale.

I've heard stories like that before, where sometimes a company will even offer a different vehicle or just randomly ship a different vehicle than the customer paid for.

I've seen lots of companies make up weird excuses not to ship cars, I had the same problem with the first company I dealt with, IBC Japan and it was a nightmare, but they did at least ship my car and the other cars of Canadians after making things very public and a lot of other things I had to do.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about many Tradecarview Vendor's that were even worse than this. Unfortunately they don't have any kind of feedback rating to protect buyers.

Hi Pippan,

your stary is correct,
Carrage is one of the biggest ripoff company on the internet.
They say they almost have 2000 / 2500 cars IN STOCK on their website,
but I think its a big lie.
I have paid them $12.800 hard worked and earned money for 2 cars.
After I tranferred the money its was the same story of your, missed shipment, there was a problem with one of the car, then with other one and dont know how long it would take to fix it. After I cancelled the order they said I would get a refund, but today after almost 5 months still nothing.
If you call them they do as they dont speak or understan english, and they say only one thing, everything will be oke sir, dont worry... As if they care.
There is one guy there who I think is the owner or the manager, calls him self Mr. Kato (+81 574600327).
I even tried Tradecarview to solve this problem but without success.
I even showed them all the payments and emails, but they dont take any action against Carrage, has been a so called "exporter" for 2 years.
God knows how many victims they have made and Tradecarview is allowing these for 2 years.
I even dont trust the website of Tradcarview anymore, if even they can not take action against a member who is a big fraud, like they are playing this game along too.

Anyhow God never sleeps, these guys are ruining the reputation of the good hardworking Japanese people as we use to know them.

My advice is to banned Tradecarview, if they even cannot verify if a member as exporter or a thief.

Pippan did you got your money back!!!

Hi aaimpex, sorry to hear about your story. I would forward them the link to this thread.

I would also contact their local Chamber of Commerce and any other related Japanese organization you can find because that will put some pressure on them.

OK....I paid for an S2000 back in November 2009. I've been dealing with this guy named Kani. I've bought cars from Tradecarview before with no problems. The first time I did it was December 2008, but I actually went to Japan to inspect the cars first. I met two really good dealers there (Freed motors and A-Line...very solid dealers) I also met one other "dealer" who didn't actually have any physical stock...they were all just buy and sell from dealer auctions. So far I've bought 9 cars in the past year (not all for me) with absolutely no hiccups, all the cars landed in timely manner and so far there are no lemons.

Carrage Co Ltd...on the other hand...wow. They took my payment and had me believe that my Yellow S2000 was in stock. Then they say that a shipping date was not found, then again in December....in January, I get an email (Only because I emailed them first) telling me that my yellow S2000 has mechanical problems and I would be unsatisfied if I insisted on them shipping it. Then they ask me if silver or grey is ok (I know that silver cars are cheaper because there are more of them...so the money I paid for the yellow car would not translate to the same condition silver car). I told them that I didn't want a silver or grey car, so they replied by telling me that I would have to wait for a little while longer since stock is currently unavailable.

This company is not very proactive when it comes to anything to do with their responsibilities as a business. I think I'm going to have to pull my puchase out and get them to remit my funds to a dealer that I've dealt with before. My payment was in US$...I hope I don't lose too much value since it's been dropping some.

Does anyone know who I can report this matter to in case this dealer is truly fly by night? I know that tradecarview probably won't care just looking at their disclaimer. Oh yeah...I tried to look up the company again on tradecarview...and they don't exist anymore...but I found them on alibaba. Would the local police be able to do anything?

That's my rant...lol

Lame. I hate companies like that. Where do you live that you could import an S2000?

I live in Papua New Guinea...grey market import country with absolutely no compliance regulations. Anything that moves can be registered and deemed roadworthy here. Even if it was a lawnmower engine strapped to a soapbox with square wheels built by a nine year old who struggles with math. As long as you are willing to pay the high import duty (121% of CIF price), then it's all green lights. BTW...there are only three taffic lights in this whole country lol.

We've exported to PNG and thought it was 100% CIF price. No wonder the buyer asked us (and I refused) to lower the invoice!
