hi Guys,
has anyone used ABR Shipping to transport your JDM car? I found couple of companies, one of them is ABR shipping. If you know anything about them please share, good or bad experience. they quoted me $450 for the forester from Vancouver to Edmonton. If you would like to recommend any other transport company please do share ![]()

Just don't use L-hansons.
I used them to get my car from Ontario to SK, never again.

Used livingston (formerly searail) for my WRX. It was around 500 to edmonton, took about 10 days if I remember correctly.
Car was flooded when I got it, however, and it had been running fine at docks. It's been suggested that the guys working at livingston don't give a shit, run shitty gas in the cars, etc. Also, my rain gaurd was broken right above the door (seen this on tons of other jdm wrx's) and it wasn't when it was in japan, so also could be them. I'll probably use them again but wouldn't recomend them if you can find another alternative |

Yeah. It cost me $1500, and they were suppose to drop it off at my door. 3 weeks later it was sitting in a city 2.5 hours away and unless I wanted it within the next 2 weeks (their excuse was that there was no trucks coming our way) I had to go get it myself.
![]() The funny thing is, on the way to said city, I counted 6 or 7 EMPTY car haulers going to the place I live. Not to mention how dirty the car got. It was horrible. It was like someone poured syrup in all the door jambs/entire engine bay and then dumped bags of sand on it. ![]() ![]()

Most of the shipping companies suck I find. Best ones have enclosed trucks with the rotating system (not sure what its called) like Mackie. It is expensive though. For the most part you get what you pay for. And yes livingston (searail) just look up the reviews. Lots of horror stories although some importers swear by them. If you have a nice car I wouldn't take a chance.

I had a summer job at Mackies in Oshawa, when they were located in Oshawa (I think they still are, or on the boarder between Oshawa and Whitby). I know they took hauling seriously and also took damage very seriously. I don't know what they are like now, but when I worked for old-man Mackie (Ross), he took damage very seriously. I know they won't be the cheapest in town, but I would imagine they'd be the most reliable.

Yes I agree. This is who I used to bring over my WRX. No complaints, very fast and efficient. One of the more expensive options though. Their prices went up so I used rim relocation the for my ITR that was a nightmare.

I use Precision Carriers and they are the best.
(604) 853-0160 2567 Emerson St Abbotsford, BC V2T3J5 I can't say enough for Precision Carriers, they are just great!! I have been using them since 2006. I've talked with the owner, I've talked to the dispatchers, I've talked to the drivers. Especially when the drivers have nothing but good things to say about the owner, that tells you the something about the business! Cheers! Ken |
