Hi guys,
I am planning buying an used Hiace Van. I need a long wheel base model of 4th generation. However I was confused by so many model NO listed in the market. Could some one tell me where I can find what does the model NO mean? I tried on toyota japan website but I failed... Thanks |

There are 106 different variations of the van so I am not surprised that you are coming up with question marks.
Lets narrow it down a bit. Want the 1KZ-te engine and you are down to 25. For diesel, stick with this one. Now you have to think about a few other things. 4wd or 2wd Manual or auto Panel sides or windows Then there are about ten trim models to choose from if you want to get more detailed. Here is an example KZH106W-MRPGT would be a Moon roof middle height 4 door 8 passenger 4wd auto with the 3.0 diesel engine.

Hi Derek, thank you so much for replying!
I am looking for a long wheel base Hiace Van preferably with high roof (but w/o high roof is still fine). Diesel/gas, Manual/auto and Panel/windows are all fine. Therefore I would appreciate if you'll help me understand what those letters and numbers mean. From your example I can understand that KZH probably stands for the 1KZ-te engine, but what are TRH102V KZH100G KDH200V LH162V RZH112V RZH102V It seems the first three letters stands for engine or fuel? Then what is the following three numbers? Does the last letter V mean Van? Thank you. |

I'm not a pro on it. I just spent some time looking for one myself.
To tell you the truth, the Hiace is not a hugely exported vehicle to Canada although i think it should be. Price re nice and they are very cool inside. Too bad they are not called something cool like the Nissan Homy. I wanted one of those too. Teh first three letters are the engine. KZH = 3.0 turbo diesel RZH = 2.4 NA gas The numbers after that are the bod style. 100, 106 are the short ones (4.64m), 110, 111, 116 are the long ones (4.9m), 120 or 126 are the super long ones (5.2). I have a feeling that the body goes like this 1-a-b (ex 116) where a is the length, and b is the height. The W or G at the end... Well, sometimes Toyota does engine type with w and g but not here. Maybe it's the suspension height and wheel set but I'm not clear. Then there are a bunch of other things for options after that I don't feel like figuring out. Codes are interesting.
