Default Subaru Select Monitor/Data Logger Cable for EJ20G

Does anyone know anything about these? I heard of some people selling the actual Subaru select monitor and other cables that allow you to tap into your ECU to see some of the stats.

Does anyone know where to buy a solution like this and what it can tell you? I'd like something that I could hookup to my netbook for a live view and logging of things like sensor voltages, MAF readings etc....

Yeah I've got that cable and it works great. I used it to reflash my esl with different maps. I bought mine from evoscans website. They make one that goes USB to the factory port under the steering column and it also has a obdII plug attached as well. Then you can use evo scan software which costs a little bit or a software of your choice.

Thanks Speed Stick, I remember these guys now: http://www.limitless.co.nz/Evoscan/

I think this is well worth the money, it's not enough to check voltages, hopefully this cable can diagnose most problems people have with their cars.

Here's a list of all their cables (they have cables for different models of Subaru and Mitsubishi): http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables/

The cable I want is for my EJ20G/OBDI: EvoScan Subaru Select Monitor I (SSMI) 9pin/16pin DataLogger Cable (1990-1998)

i use Evoscan on my MY96, works 50%. Logging is good, but it doesnt show me the Troublecodes. The programm says there isnt a code, but when you connect the diagnostic pins and look to the check engine light, there are troublecodes.

It's also possible to build your own, I'm trying to figure out how to do it with just a straight through serial cable and buying the 9-pin plug adapter.
