Default What Are The Best Japanese Car Auction Systems?

One of the great things about the internet is how you can now get (almost) real time access to the major Japanese Car Auctions in one system.

This means that you can research the market from the past sales database, view listings with auction house reports a day or so prior to the auction and verify the auction result and sale price online.

It also means you can do everything in your own time zone and don't have to rely on a phone call from your man in Japan in the middle of the night.

There are now several third party systems out there, such as:

    RunX
    http://jpcenter.ru/?lang=en

    Nihon Cars
    http://test.nihoncars.com/cars/

    JUMVEA
    http://jadl.jumvea.or.jp/index.phtml?p=project
    etc.

Exporters who use the systems can modify the header graphics etc. to match the look and feel of their own website, but most of the user interface usually remains the same, so it doesn't take a lot of detective work to see which exporter is using which system.

If you've used some of these systems which are the best ones? What features do you like and dislike? What features would you like but can't find in the existing systems?

This is a good post, do you know how one could get access to the NAK/shakken/auction mileage databases?

I notice that this organization gives access to the auction house odometer data and registration data on a vehicle by vehicle basis.

You can also check sale prices and odometer readings through the auction systems sold database. For example this 180SX went through auction 4 times in 3 months:

USS Tokyo 1 July 2010 Sold for Y500,000 Odometer 181,048km

JU Miyagi 10 September 2010 Sold for Y420,000 Odometer 181,761km

USS Tohoku 22 September 2010 Sold for Y424,000 Odometer 181,762km

USS Tohoku 29 September 2010 Sold for Y409,000 Odometer 181,762km

I'd like to add ours in here, we tend to get cars in our system first and all cars will be archived (possibly for years) including pics, whereas other systems delete them within 3 months.

JDMVIP - AIS (Auction Intelligence System).

Good feature. Retaining listings in the database over a long term is useful for both locating individual vehicles outside the normal window of just a few months and being able to track sale price trends for specific models in the medium and long term.
