Ouch hunter sorry to hear this!

What kind of mileage did it have and how many kilometers or weeks did the car run properly or was the issue apparent as soon as he received the car?

Mitsubishi's are known to be far less reliable than Subaru's although you can get a spun bearing in some EJ20's if you don't maintain them or if you do crazy things to it.

I just did some reading and someone said the 6G72 engine in this car is known to be unreliable. I remember civicless's tuner friend said he worked on friend's 3000GT or Dodge Stealth (same thing) and the car had some real issues too.

If you're going to bring a Mitsubishi please choose the rally car legend EVO GSR Version 1. The 4G63 engine in that car is known to be pretty reliable at least.

We've heard stories of almost any car coming in and the engine ends up being toast but sometimes these are the guys that don't check the fluids, don't let the car warm up and pickup the car and drive the crap out of it with sludgy oil.

Is there any chance he pushed it too hard or redlined it before it warmed up the first time or changed the fluids or maybe it was even low on oil?

If it is apparent the engine had a problem even before driving it out of the garage I would ask the Exporter some questions (that's just me though).

Well after down some research we know that the issue is..

    http://www.3si.org/forum/4334331-post27.html

If you Jack the car up with a Floor jack that dents the Oil pan..

and as you can see in those pics..
well it stops the flow of Oil.
Which results in a spun bearing.. or other fatal issues.

Nice research but isn't that just a result of jacking the car up from the wrong point?

Has your friend confirmed his oil pan is dented?

we suspect it was dented at "Titanium Auto" in richmond they did his inspection.. and changed all his tires.. and didnt use a hoist cause they were busy..

Hmm they used a Floor jack..

    Hmm...They were rushed....

Hmm fastest spot to lift a car..

    Hmmm......OIL PAN
