After reading the other thread where people are talking about the Fee's that get returned to the Exporter, and how some Exporters are keep those fee's i figured it would be good to start a thread, hopefully it can stopped inexperienced buyers from getting fleeced by there slimy Exporters.

Charge Negotiation Fee: Depends on the cost. Cars over a certain amount have much higher negotiation fees, as does i-auc. The client will be aware of the negotiation fee prior to making the negotiation. Its up to them to decide.

    Charge Shipping Set-up Fee: No

Charge Ro/Ro Port or Loading Fee: No

Shipping/port fee is charged by the shipping agent to every exporter.

It says right in the FAQ on your site that you charge the Recycle Tax.

Not sure if this is directed at me. However, we did charge for recycle and consumption tax in the past. That was obvious from our FAQ. We have changed our policy, and I explained to Matt (Silver) and another member of this forum about the tax refunds and everything has been happily agreed upon.

Hmmm on the premise this thread has a good purpose but it looks like Sastrad is being singled out (not that any Sponsor gets a break for the sake of it per the Sponsorship rules, but why aren't any other companies being mentioned here?).

What do you think about adding the car price, and whether it was by negotiation and if the price was verified or proven?

Considering my last Export experience I think the biggest worry about fleecing is from fraudulent Exporters who bring cars by negotiation and mark up the price nearly to the maximum bid price (assuming there's room for a spread). I've been told by many now that it's a bit more common than some think (especially arrangements between companies with direct access and then the middlemen who buy through them....this is a long story and would need a very lengthy explanation).

My first thoughts about the Consumption tax are that I don't think it should be charged but it's not illegal to make a profit or to charge it, even if it's refunded to the Exporter. With that said I honestly wouldn't deal with any company who currently charges it unless the total service fees ended up at around the standard 100K JPY. What's illegal is fraud and saying a car sold for X JPY when it really sold for a lot less and those are the things that truly concern me.

I respect how Sastrad professionally handled hunter's public confrontation, he admitted he charged the tax in the past, and even refunded it to our members without question, hassle, accusing him of wrongdoing, trying to destroy this site or having an army of friends attack hunter to distract from the situation.

I guess I'm just saying that how Sastrad handled this shows a high level of integrity and professionalism and is a far cry from the many shady companies I have the displeasure of having contact with on a random basis (explained more later lol). The shady ones would just run, hide or otherwise avoid addressing the issue directly in my experience over the years.

Sorry guys but I guess I'm just comparing my experiences with dishonest and fraudulent Exporters and how they behave when caught doing illegal things (I have more contact with this stuff privately than many know unfortunately lol and receive weekly threats and demands to remove negative reviews/comments from a variety of shady companies).
