The picture below is well-known in the Russian Internet.
It was taken at least 13 years ago, in 2001 or a couple of years earlier.
What you see there is a pre-facelifting (10.1992 to 08.1994) GX90 Toyota Mark II Grande with straight-six 2.0 liter 1G-FE engine serving as a police car in Russia.
This is Khabarovsk (Far East), and I guess it tells a lot about the penetration of JDM in the Russian Far East if even the authorities bought used imported JDM cars at some point of time.
In Tourer V specification, this Mark II would have had the 1JZ-GTE 2.5 liter turbo.
Designed in Italy, Mark II X90 body is considered by many the most beautiful Japanese car ever (or at least in the 80s-90s epoch).
On the right from Mark 2 is also a JDM, an SV-32 Toyota Camry with 2.0 liter four-cylinder 3S-FE engine. This car was made between 1990 and 1994 for JDM only.
It is an independent model from European/US SXV10 Camry made at approximately the same time.
Compared to "global" Camry, JDM Camry is a tad narrower and shorter to fit in the right size class in Japan. It came with 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5 engines, and it could have 4WD or 4WS, which was not available in the global SXV10 body.
A nice and very popular car at the time as well, but Mark 2 of course had much higher prestige (even though it was smaller inside).
