    Default Dubai, UAE Import Information

I have been told that vehicles less than 10 years old are eligible for import into Dubai

I think at 15 years old they try to get you to take them off the road, I can't remember those details.

I do know a lot of cars get shipped to Dubai.

Being a somewhat oil rich country I'm assuming they have high quality fuel readily available for everyone's favorite turbo charged cars.

Here is an interesting article on the UAE market, a sign of the times and foreshadows of the future?

    Interesting article JapanCarDirect.
And in those places they seem to import a lot of high-end JDMs, fast and luxurious if anyone has seen crazy drifting around sand dunes on YouTube

It is already much harder to apply for credit here. I'm hoping to finiance some of a new bike...I'm hoping to have most of it paid in cash, but I'm hoping my fat paychecks from working overtime will help me in the financing department. Otherwise I get cheaper used bike which I may do anyways.

I sold my car lot in Ajman UAE in December. The car market where I had the car lot has at least 60% of the lots closed. Sad really, as there were lots of dealers who spent huge money on their lots, then had to just abandon them. I luckily sold mine.

That's too bad, I read a story that a lot of people are selling their Porsche's etc, it seems like the Dubai car market just went down the tubes.

I'll be heading there myself in January and hope to see some nice rides.

I was surprised to hear from Steve that Dubai only allows LHD cars. It's true that I only saw LHD there and I didn't even realize they drove on that side of the road.

I guess it makes sense because the country is more aligned to the US than the UK.

I did see a RHD R32 and other videos of RHD cars from Dubai though. Might there be an exception to the LHD rule?

Most of the stuff I sell to UAE is late 80s to late 90s Mercedes Benz and BMW specialty models like AMGs and Alpinas. Run of the mill stuff is dead there it seems. All LHD of course.
