All I can think of is the Pontiac Fiero. Which was a direct competitor with the mk1 mr2. But Of course Toyota moped the floor with it.
Yeah the Pontiac fiero for sure did but what a piece of garbage it is.
They had usdm versions of the mr2 with the same motor so parts weren't a big deal. I've got two friends with rhd mr2's.

I'm in the market for a 1988-89 turbocharged MR2 for rallying. I think the short wheelbase, lightweight and RWD will be a blast! If anyone knows of one of these for sale in rough (runs decent, but body can be rusty or banged up) shape, drop me a PM.
Getting a 96/3 Rev 3 mr2 in 1 month. I believe it will be the first 96 one in alberta if not in Canada. This one is VERY tastefully modded, I think the rev3's had base hp of 245, this one has probably 260-275 with mods.
