    Default EVO 5 Battery Drain

    Hi everyone,

There's a massive 10V drain (determined by parasitic drain test) in the EVO 5. I have narrowed the issue down to two wires. One leads to the engine fuse box which is noted by the main battery fuse. Now, the other wire is a red sleeved cable. I can't find where it leads to because of the tight fit in the bay, but I'm assuming it leads to the alternator/starter.

Does anyone have any tips on how to proceed from here?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not a car electric expert but usually when you have a drain it is often a car stereo, remote starter and even more likely an alarm in my experience.

Thanks, will look into those. The massive drain leads to the alternator so I'm not sure how to fix it!

Its most likely the diodes have gone bad in the alternator and are allowing it to drain the battery when the cars off.Take your alt to canadian tire and get it tested.
