I came up my my own method. The blue/yellow wire (pin 1) of combination switch is for the headlight relays. You de pin this from the combination switch plug, and connect it to your toll payment machines ignition power. This keeps the wiring behind your dash tucked away for the inspector to never see..

I take back my method, it works in acc. but doesn't trigger the relay if you actually start the car. I thought I had it all figured out and then started it and had no lights. weird thing is the switch still works when the car is started. I also tried grounding the pin in the fuse box that was suggested, but no lights again..
guess its back to the drawing board for me.

I ended up going with an add a fuse off the hvac to jump the fog light relay on.

Just created an account. You are a life saver GC8. Going to try the single-wire method this weekend on my 03 Legacy Wagon GT. Wish me luck.

Hi, thanks guys for looking and attempting this mods. I will also need this to safety my 2006 Legacy. Just curious if you guys need to change your stock JDM headlights to DOT SAE standard to pass safety inspections?

Also, the dimmer of instruments lights when the PARK LIGHTS are ON probably controlled by the ECM and maybe we need to find that feedback wire to the ECM and cut it?

Hey guys, I did the 1 wire mod to enable Park Lights DRL. I cut that single wire and ground that other end of wire ( connector side) and no problem with instrument lights dimming. I just taped and covered the other end of the wire so it wont be exposed.
