BP5 Legacy Spec B McIntosh CD Player "FOCUS Err" and audio issues
I've read on other forums that this issue seems somewhat common.
Basically the disc won't play or often freezes and skips and spits the disc out.
The one temp solution I found is to eject and reload the disc.
It is also worse when it is cold out and the car is cold as in it won't play any discs when cold.
They say it is a laser calibration error and the unit needs to be replaced.
One person says a CD cleaner seemed to help.
The other issue is that I think the sub is blown.
Is there a good replacement sub and head unit that will work with the existing wiring?
